Occupying an imposing position overlooking Haslingden Road Rawtenstall, St Mary's Chambers has been lovingly restored to provide the finest conference & banqueting facilities in East Lancashire. The impressive grade II listed building has a long local history. Formerly a Methodist church, it was built in 1856 & when completed in 1857, was named Haslingden Road United Methodist Church. By the 1930's the congregations were dwindling & soon the building fell into decline. After the war the church was used by elderly members of Rawtenstall as a meeting place and social centre. However by the 1990's, the building became almost uninhabitable until it was rescued by local builder and property developer - B & E Boys. The company set to work and with the co-operation of English Heritage and a lot of hard work, restored the building & transformed it into the showpiece development it is today. St Mary's Chambers is a testament to the craft skills & vision of B & E Boys in providing these excellent facilities for both business & local people to enjoy. So for a venue that is stunningly beautiful, is steeped in tradition - yet boasts state-of-the-art business & superb banqueting facilities - St Mary's Chambers has to be the perfect choice. |
