Formerly a Methodist church, it was built in 1856 & when completed in 1857, was named Haslingden Road United Methodist Church.</font></p> <p><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">By the 1930's the congregations were dwindling & soon the building fell into decline. After the war the church was used by elderly members of Rawtenstall as a meeting place and social centre. However by the 1990's, the building became almost uninhabitable until it was rescued by local builder and property developer - B & E Boys.</font></p> <p><font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">The company set to work and with the co-operation of English Heritage and a lot of hard work, restored the building & transformed it into the showpiece development it is today. St Mary's Chambers is a testament to the craft skills & vision of B & E Boys in providing these excellent facilities for both business & local people to enjoy. Join the M61 travelling towards Bolton and Manchester to Junction 9 (approximately l/2 mile). Join the M65 going towards Blackburn to Junction 8. Take the A56 to Manchester. Then take the A681 signposted Todmorden and follow the Rawtenstall and Bacup signs. Go straight on at the junction which is also signposted Ski Rossendale. St. Mary's Chambers is 1 mile down that road on the left hand side, opposite signs for the Magistrates Court and just before the roundabout in the centre of Rawtenstall.</font></p> <p><font size="5" color="#660000" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">From the north east</font><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif"><br> Take the M62 to Junction 18 signposted Whitefield. Join the M66 travelling North towards Burnley to the end of the Motorway. The dual carriageway continues as the A56. Then follow the A682 to Rawtenstall. Turn left at the roundabout in the centre of Rawtenstall onto the A681 to Haslingden. St. Mary's Chambers is immediately on the right opposite signs for the Magistrates Court.</font></p> <p><font size="5" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" color="#660000">From the south</font><font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif"><br> Take the M6 to Junction 21A. Join the M62 travelling towards Manchester. At Junction 12 the Motorway becomes the M60. Continue along the M60 to Junction 18. Join the M66 travelling North towards Burnley to the end of the Motorway. The dual carriageway continues as the A56. Then follow the A682 to Rawtenstall. Turn left at the roundabout in the centre of Rawtenstall onto the A681 to Haslingden.
